Bruce Campbell

After graduating from the Maryland Institute College of Art with a BFA in secondary education, Bruce moved to Clearwater, Florida to begin working and teaching pottery at the Florida Gulf Coast Art Center.

He and his wife, Paris, were invited to take over a gallery on Main Street in Clearwater. Together, they operated and taught pottery and painting classes in their gallery for a number of years. Soon Bruce found exhibiting in the large juried art shows exciting and profitable, so for over 10 years, the couple made pottery from their Dunedin studio, in the Clearwater, Tampa Metropolitan area. From there they exhibited and, at times, won major awards along the East Coast from Ann Arbor, Michigan down to Miami Beach.

With the responsibilities of their four beautiful children, Bruce realized his 3-D visualization training, along with his mastery and craftsmanship would lend itself perfectly through design and build, so he began a successful and much needed business in Historic Remodeling, especially living here in Baltimore!

Now many years later, he has returned to his love of clay. He believes New Phoenix Pottery to be a rare treasure, a warm and welcoming place to learn the joys of clay, and he thoroughly enjoys teaching the many skills he has acquired through a life focused on design and the beauty of art.
