    Beginner - 8 week Potter's Wheel Class

    Instructor : Charlene Randolph

This class will meet every Thursday morning from 10am to 1pm.

Have you always wanted to learn how to use the potter’s wheel to make mugs, cups, and bowls?

This fun class will help you tap into your creativity while learning the basic skills of throwing clay on the potter's wheel.

From throwing shapes to finishing your pots with ceramic glazes, this class will help you develop the skills needed to form and finish your own pottery.

It is recommended to take this class multiple times in order to fully investigate all of the concepts and embed them into your creative process.

    $280

25 lbs. of cone 6 clay & bisque firing costs are included.

There is an additional small fee for glaze firing based on the size of your pieces, each piece you make must have a ticket to get glaze fired.

PLEASE bring your own pottery tool kit (Less than $8 on Amazon).

    https://www.amazon.com/Honbay-8-Piece-Pottery-Sculpting-Modeling/dp/B07ST7ML65/

*A small towel is also helpful*

You may practice in the studio when there are no classes in session during the 2 months of your class. This extra time can be used to finish anything left undone, and to pick up your finished pieces.

If you would like to continue to use the studio after this window please consider signing up for a new round of class, or consider purchasing a monthly studio membership for $120. It comes with several perks including ample studio space for your tools and work and reduced glaze firing fees.

As you can imagine, having a pottery studio in your house would take up a large amount of space and dust would get into other areas despite regular cleaning...

This is why having a public pottery studio to use is a huge advantage.

However, it relies on individuals to keep it operating smoothly and safely.

PLEASE:  Remember to clean up well after yourself and be respectful with studio equipment.

Clay and Glaze are comprised of mostly silica, the most common element on the surface of the earth, aka sand, aka glass.

*Breathing in fine particulate glass is not good, so keeping our studio clean is to the health and benefit of everyone.     -Thank you!

WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU!
