Beginner 8-Week Hybrid Potter’s Wheel/Handbuilding Class

This class will meet every Tuesday from 10am to 1pm

In 1980 Volker Schoenfliess and 8 other artists founded Baltimore Clayworks, his mastery of the subject matter can be seen in his stunning work.

If you are interested in the potter’s wheel, free forming clay, decorative or sculptural work, or how to combine the potter’s wheel with other building techniques this is an exciting class for you. You can choose to focus on the potter’s wheel, handbuilding, or both together.

This class will help you tap into your creativity while learning the basic skills of throwing and handbuilding with clay.

From building shapes to finishing your pieces with ceramic glazes, this class will help you develop the skills needed to form and finish your own pottery.

$280   

25 lbs. of Cone 6 clay & Bisque firing costs are included.

There is an additional small fee for glaze firing based on the weight of your pieces, each piece you make must have a ticket in order to get glaze fired.

You may practice in the studio during the 2 months of your class only when there are no other classes in session.

PLEASE: 

Remember to clean up well after yourself and respect our studio equipment.

Both clay & glaze are comprised of mostly silica.

Fine particulate glass is not good to breathe.

Keeping our studio clean is for the health and safety of everyone.
